TechFlow News — According to Hebei Cyberspace Administration, the Hebei Provincial Internet Information Office has recently joined forces with the Department of Education, Public Security Bureau, Local Financial Supervision and Administration Bureau, Shijiazhuang Branch of the People's Bank of China, Communications Administration, and the Hebei Sub-center of the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center (CNCERT/CC) to launch a special rectification campaign targeting virtual currency mining and trading activities. The campaign requires that by September 30, relevant institutions within the province must thoroughly review and assess their currently used information systems, further strengthen system security measures and internal management systems, and strictly prevent the use of system computing power for illegal virtual currency mining. Party and government agencies at all levels and state-owned enterprises and public institutions are required to lead by example. Municipal-level cyberspace departments must promptly submit registration information to the provincial cyberspace office. No related system construction may proceed without prior registration. Systems already in operation must complete registration by September 30. Starting from October, relevant authorities will jointly conduct routine monitoring, and monitoring and enforcement results will be published within a certain scope. For any entity found using information system computing resources for illegal mining, responsible leading officials and individuals will be held strictly accountable. Internet access to affected information systems will be suspended until rectification is completed. Illegal trading activities will be severely punished according to law.
