It is reported that recently, relevant departments of the PBOC held meetings with certain financial institutions—including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Construction Bank of China, Postal Savings Bank of China, Industrial Bank, and Alipay (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd.—regarding their provision of services facilitating cryptocurrency trading and speculation. The participating institutions stated they will take this matter seriously, strictly comply with the requirements set by the PBOC, refrain from conducting or participating in any cryptocurrency-related business activities, further intensify investigation and enforcement efforts, implement stringent measures, and resolutely cut off the funding payment channels for cryptocurrency trading and speculative activities.
