TechFlow news, according to the Financial Times, Facebook plans to launch its cryptocurrency Libra as early as next year in a limited form.
On June 18, 2019, the official Libra Twitter account posted its first message: "Libra’s mission is to build a simple global currency and financial infrastructure that empowers billions of people."
Central banks, finance ministers, legislators from multiple countries, and numerous global privacy protection organizations have raised concerns about Libra, listing various issues including money laundering, terrorist financing, and financial stability. To date, six founding members have announced their withdrawal from the Libra Association: PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, eBay, Stripe, and Mercado Pago.
David Marcus, head of Libra, previously stated multiple times that regardless of regulatory outcomes, Libra would officially launch in 2020.
