TechFlow news — Recently, Bobby Ong, co-founder and COO of CoinGecko, told TechFlow that the launch of Filecoin was extremely poor. Most investors were unhappy because they had to wait three years for the mainnet launch. For a token that raised a substantial amount of funds, taking three years to launch is utterly unacceptable—the team should have moved much faster given the large amount of capital at their disposal.
He also stated that upon mainnet launch, Filecoin’s fully diluted valuation was already extremely high, making the subsequent drop in token price unsurprising. Furthermore, changes in Filecoin’s token lock-up mechanism led many miners to incur losses, which is certainly not a good omen for Filecoin’s future development.
