TechFlow news — A new study by cryptocurrency mining company Genesis Mining reveals that most U.S. citizens oppose the introduction of a central bank digital currency (CBDC). A survey conducted by Genesis Mining found that among 400 respondents, less than 25% agreed that the government should abandon paper money in favor of a digital dollar, while over half were opposed. However, support for CBDCs has nearly doubled over the past 12 months. In 2019, only 13% of respondents supported a digital dollar. Although over 85% of respondents said they were familiar with crypto assets, many associated virtual currencies with criminal activities, which may be one reason behind the low level of CBDC support.
