On August 27, 2020, Zora, Binance Taiwan community lead, hosted a live discussion with YFII community members Laobai, Dovey, and Chaoji Jun. The three guests introduced the concept and mechanics of YFII, sharing their insights on the future of DeFi and the role of liquidity mining.
The guests expressed that real-world financial institutions—such as commercial banks, insurance companies, and lending organizations—could eventually be fully replicated on DeFi platforms. While acknowledging the significant bubble currently present in DeFi, they emphasized that beneath the hype lies a major long-term trend. They believe blockchain's application in finance is more compelling than traditional financial systems. At its core, the industry today is built upon the philosophy of DeFi, which features permissionless access, ensuring technical-level equality where every address receives identical services. Additionally, assets in decentralized finance benefit from data visibility, enabling transparent public oversight and safeguarding data freedom and transparency.
