According to Anti-Pyramid Scheme Network, on July 10, the Heshan City People's Court in Guangdong Province disclosed a verdict in a "virtual currency" online pyramid scheme case. Defendants Yang and Cui, together with others, used the issuance of AGR points tokens as a lure to aggressively recruit over 10,000 subordinates and collected nearly 100 million yuan in pyramid scheme funds. Having been found guilty of criminal conduct, both were sentenced to three years' imprisonment and fined 300,000 yuan. Their illegal gains have been confiscated.
