Korean Pension Fund Turns Net Buyer on KOSPI for First Time This Year, Heavy Position in SK Hynix
Data from the Korea Exchange shows that pension funds, including the National Pension Service (NPS), one of the largest institutional investors in the Korean stock market, turned to net buying in the Korean stock market for the first time this month. Korea Exchange data shows that as of July 24, the National Pension Service and other pension funds have cumulatively made net purchases of KOSPI Index component stocks worth 68.4 billion Korean won (approximately 46.8 million US dollars) since July this year. This is the first single-month net buying achieved this year by pension funds after six consecutive months of net selling. In terms of specific stocks, SK Hynix was the stock most bought by pension funds since July, with net purchases reaching 425.8 billion Korean won. (Jin10)
