TechFlow News, June 19: Tang Jie, founder of Zhipu AI, stated on X that since its open-source release, GLM-5.2 has achieved top-tier results across multiple international benchmarks and leaderboards. Specifically, in the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index comprehensive evaluation, GLM-5.2 scored 51 points—placing it in a performance range comparable to Anthropic’s Claude Opus (4.8); in the Code Arena front-end code generation test, it ranked second globally with an Elo score of 1595; and in the DesignArena benchmark for integrated design-and-coding scenarios, it ranked first with a score of 1360.
Tang Jie noted that GLM-5.2 consistently ranks among the top performers in real-world scenario evaluations—including front-end development, design generation, and software engineering—and that the performance gap between GLM-5.2 and cutting-edge models from OpenAI and Anthropic is steadily narrowing.
Earlier, after Elon Musk suggested China’s AI might reach “Fable-level” capability “possibly by Q1,” Tang Jie responded: “It won’t take that long.”
