TechFlow News, May 20: According to JINSHI Data, OpenAI is establishing an artificial intelligence laboratory in Singapore through a multi-year partnership with the Singaporean government to support the country’s AI development strategy. In a statement released on Wednesday, OpenAI announced it has committed over S$300 million (approximately $234 million) to build its first applied AI laboratory outside the United States. Over the next several years, its technical team in Singapore will expand to more than 200 people. OpenAI established an office in Singapore in 2024. The company is currently forging partnerships with governments worldwide to maintain its competitive edge over rivals such as Anthropic and Google. Singapore has prioritized artificial intelligence as a strategic national focus.
