TechFlow News, March 9: According to a CoinDesk report, Imran Khan—founder of Proem Asset Management, a technology investment firm managing $450 million in assets, and former Chief Strategy Officer at Snap—recently stated that cryptocurrency plays almost no role in its AI investment strategy.
Khan explained that the core logic underpinning AI investments centers on productivity gains and economic growth, whereas cryptocurrency follows an entirely distinct investment logic; the two should not be conflated. That said, Proem still holds positions in Coinbase (COIN), Robinhood (HOOD), bitcoin mining company Iren (IREN), and the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), but these fall under the firm’s broader technology-sector investment mandate—not its dedicated AI investment strategy.
