TechFlow News: On February 5, the Ethereum Foundation officially launched its 2026 Doctoral Fellowship Program, aimed at supporting Ethereum-related academic research led by current Ph.D. students. The program will award 7–8 selected fellows $24,000 each for one year, supplementing their existing scholarships. The application deadline is April 1, 2026.
The program is open to all disciplines, with special encouragement for applicants from economics, political science, business schools, public policy, computer science, urban planning, and sociology. Applicants must be enrolled Ph.D. students at a university or academic institution, and their research outputs must be published under an open-access model. Selection criteria include the anticipated impact of the research, the quality and experience of the applicant’s prior work, clarity of the research proposal, and the applicant’s potential for long-term engagement with the Ethereum ecosystem.
