TechFlow, December 3 — According to Cryptonews, the Australian Bitcoin Industry Association (ABIB) has filed a formal complaint with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), accusing it of publishing factually inaccurate and misleading reporting on Bitcoin.
The complaint targets an article written by ABC's chief business correspondent Ian Verrender, which primarily characterizes Bitcoin as a money laundering tool, claims that Bitcoin "has no useful purpose," and describes money laundering as its "last useful business." ABIB stated that the report uses a one-sided framework, conflating Bitcoin with criminal activities while ignoring Bitcoin's legitimate applications in energy stability, humanitarian remittances, and sovereign reserves.
