TechFlow, October 3 — Due to the U.S. government shutdown starting Wednesday, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics failed to release the September non-farm payroll report at 20:30 Beijing time as scheduled. This is the first time such a situation has occurred since 2013, when the government shutdown caused the originally scheduled October 4 non-farm payroll release to be delayed by nearly three weeks, finally being published on October 22. This week, other economic data not released due to the U.S. government shutdown include: initial jobless claims, construction spending month-on-month, factory orders month-on-month, and durable goods orders month-on-month. According to U.S. media reports, the U.S. Senate will vote again on October 3 on a temporary funding bill to extend federal government funding. If it fails to pass, the federal government shutdown could continue into next week. (Jinshi)
