NFT Infrastructure NFTSCAN Completes $1.5 Million Angel Round Equity Financing
On December 31, NFT infrastructure provider NFTSCAN announced completion of a $1.5 million angel round equity financing, led by Mask Network, Cipholio Ventures, SNZ, and Antalpha. The team stated that funds will be primarily used for technical team expansion, improving development efficiency, advancing multi-chain NFT data development, and serving developers and NFT ecosystem participants across more blockchain networks. NFTSCAN is a professional NFT explorer and data analytics platform. Previously, in April, NFTSCAN secured seed funding from Y2Z Ventures and officially launched its Ethereum NFT explorer in September.
Cross-Chain DeFi Protocol Umee Raises $32 Million via CoinList
Cross-chain DeFi protocol Umee has raised $32 million through the sale of its native token UMEE on CoinList. The token sale began on December 2, with over 920,000 wallet addresses registered on CoinList, and 64,000 addresses ultimately purchasing UMEE tokens. Umee CEO Brent Xu said the funds will be used to expand the team and grow compliant resources and underlying infrastructure through additional marketing efforts, as well as to develop its global community. Umee is a cross-chain DeFi platform that interconnects blockchains, serving as a foundational layer upon which developers can build application ecosystems.

Decentralized derivatives protocol Kine Protocol has entered into a strategic partnership with Avalanche Asia Star Fund AVATAR and received a strategic investment from AVATAR. Through this collaboration, Kine Protocol will become a supported protocol on Avalanche, helping AVATAR scale its platform and launch new products to drive sustained growth. In return, AVATAR’s investors, researchers, and scientists will provide expertise and technical support to Kine Protocol.

Vesper Lend Lending Pool on Rari Fuse Attacked Again, Losing ~$1 Million
On December 31, Vesper Finance reported that its Vesper Lend beta pool (Pool #23) on the interest rate protocol Fuse was attacked again. An attacker manipulated an oracle and drained approximately $1 million worth of DAI, ETH, WBTC, and USDC from the beta lending pool. This was not an attack on Vesper's own contracts, and no VSP or vVSP tokens were at risk. Vesper has disabled borrowing and lending for all tokens in the Beta Vesper Lend Rari Pool #23 and switched the oracle from VUSD/USDC to VUSD/ETH (Uni v3). Earlier, the same Vesper Lend pool on Rari Fuse was exploited, allowing the attacker to profit around $3 million.

On December 31, it was announced that ten classic artworks by Hayao Miyazaki will be licensed to the mecha NFT project MetaRim for use as NFT backgrounds—marking the first time Miyazaki’s artwork has been combined with NFTs. MetaRim will begin whitelist presales on January 5, with the ten Miyazaki NFT artworks randomly distributed to addresses participating in the presale.

Jay Chou and Hannah Quinlivan both announced on Instagram that they have received PHANTACi NFTs as gifts.
