Huobi Executive Face-to-Face | Jasper, Head of Assets at Huobi HTX, Explains the Rules for Capturing High-Quality Assets
To capture potential high-quality assets as much as possible, Huobi HTX has established a robust research and evaluation system.
Recently, new assets launched on Huobi HTX have delivered outstanding performance. Notably, $TREE (Treehouse) surged to the top of the platform's popularity rankings shortly after its listing on July 29, achieving a sixfold increase on its first day and attracting significant market attention and discussion.
On August 7, Jasper, Head of Asset Management at Huobi HTX, was invited as a guest on the third episode of "Huobi Executive Face-to-Face," where he addressed questions from X, community members, and HTX DAO council members regarding Huobi HTX’s new asset selection mechanisms and key indicators for identifying long-term growth potential.

New Asset Selection Mechanism: Rigorous Evaluation to Capture High-Potential Projects
To effectively identify high-potential projects, Huobi HTX has established a robust evaluation and analysis system.
According to Jasper, for projects already listed on exchanges, Huobi HTX closely monitors their ongoing development to assess whether they are making continuous progress. For projects that have not yet issued tokens, the evaluation process comprehensively considers multiple on-chain key metrics, including token distribution, on-chain activity, potential vulnerabilities or backdoors in smart contracts, and the reasonableness of project valuations, ensuring that selected projects possess strong potential and security.
"Huobi HTX tracks and identifies potentially tokenizable projects up to a year in advance, conducting two to three rounds of in-depth assessment to determine listing eligibility. Evaluation dimensions include the project team's background, backing institutions, sector focus, anti-money laundering measures, KYC implementation, contract security, operational progress, traffic data, product overview, community热度, social media reputation, economic model, token distribution, authenticity of on-chain data, and more. We also leverage data platforms such as RootData, Glassnode, and CertiK to verify on-chain data and smart contract security, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness."
Jasper emphasized that the key to identifying a project's long-term growth potential lies in the essential demand within its sector. For example, projects related to DeFi and infrastructure such as AAVE, UNI, LINK, and TRX genuinely meet core industry needs and demonstrate stable cash flow and profitability, making them essential products with positive long-term outlooks. In contrast, projects relying on hyped concepts, fabricated data, or artificial demand are promptly identified and filtered out by Huobi HTX’s evaluation system.
Jasper noted that this rigorous screening ensures over 90% of major promising projects are not missed. Nevertheless, for highly popular projects with unideal overall valuations and market feedback—such as "PUMP"-type assets—Huobi HTX firmly rejects listing, treating such cases as gambling scenarios. "Better to miss than blindly chase inflated prices. Since the beginning of this year, Huobi HTX has successfully avoided at least three projects that later collapsed, fully demonstrating the reliability of this evaluation system."
Exploring Tiered Asset Observation and Innovation Zones to Enhance Community Engagement and Transparent Investment
To strengthen community participation and information transparency, Huobi HTX is actively exploring innovative mechanisms such as an "Asset Watchlist" and a "Trial Operations Zone."
Jasper revealed that the coin recommendation voting initiated by HTX DAO essentially functions as an observation zone, allowing DAO community members to vote for and review promising projects, serving as a valuable supplement to the official selection process. Meanwhile, Huobi HTX launched an Innovation Zone in Q2 this year, specifically designed to showcase early-stage projects or meme coins with higher uncertainty and volatility. The main zone remains reserved for more mature and high-quality assets, helping users make choices aligned with their individual risk preferences.
During the livestream, Jasper acknowledged that no exchange can guarantee every listed project will perform well—not even leading platforms like Binance or Upbit are exceptions.
"An exchange is merely a venue providing asset liquidity, earning reasonable transaction fees without controlling price movements. Token price fluctuations are influenced by multiple factors including the project team's capabilities, market-making strategies, economic models, market sentiment, community热度, broader market trends, and valuation reasonableness. Investors must conduct thorough research and make rational judgments before entering the market, taking full responsibility for their decisions."
