AI Is Entering the Foundation of Civilization, Yet Ownership of Intelligent Assets Remains an Unsolved Mystery
Beneath the global surge in AI development, a long-ignored issue is increasingly becoming a focal point of consensus—the construction of artificial intelligence relies on large-scale human collaboration, yet its value distribution structure remains severely imbalanced. Data, labels, feedback, and behavior—the raw assets that fuel model growth—remain difficult to track, attribute ownership, and incentivize.
In the past, AI was seen as a technological achievement; today, it resembles more closely a distillation of distributed productivity. Who participates? Who should own? Who should benefit? The answers to these questions directly shape the future form of the AI economy.
The emergence of Sahara AI proposes, in this context, a reconstruction plan for AI X Web3: a world-first full-stack, AI-native blockchain platform that opens access to all, enabling participation in building, contributing value, and receiving returns from artificial intelligence.
Unlike Web3 wrappers around existing AI tools, Sahara AI from inception seeks to establish a new order for intelligent assets—where datasets, models, agents, and other key assets can be registered, licensed, verified, and monetized, forming a "on-chain property rights layer" and "value distribution layer" for the AI era.
Sahara Launches SIWA Testnet: The First Publicly Available On-Chain Data Rights Management System
May 19, 2025, Los Angeles Time—Sahara AI officially launches its public testnet SIWA, opening channels for full-chain developers to create, collaborate, and monetize AI. SIWA is the first public entry point to the Sahara Blockchain. As foundational infrastructure, its core function is to provide verifiable rights attribution, licensing management, and on-chain monetization capabilities for AI assets such as datasets and models, establishing trusted and traceable standards for AI collaboration.
During the private testing phase, Sahara AI achieved significant growth: total accounts surpassed 3.2 million, daily active accounts exceeded 1.4 million, with over 200,000 users participating in data labeling tasks.
The first phase of the SIWA public test focuses on "decentralized data rights management", allowing users to register their own datasets on-chain and mint data ownership credentials, endowing them with asset characteristics that are traceable, valuated, and revenue-shareable, thereby transforming the current reality where data underpinning traditional AI is implicitly exploited and unpriced.
"AI is evolving through data driven by billions of users, yet the vast majority have neither been authorized nor compensated."
Said Sean Ren, Co-Founder & CEO of Sahara AI:
"Sahara is not just another blockchain project—it's a call for systemic reflection and collective action. Our data service platform has already generated real revenue, and we are returning this value directly to testnet users. SIWA will support any developer or chain willing to empower AI contributors to join our ecosystem."

Sahara AI’s protocol roadmap includes three additional stages prior to mainnet: licensing that turns attribution into income, revenue distribution, and royalty vaults; a permissionless testnet using open-source protocols; and pipeline registration, provenance tracking, and proof of contribution for automated revenue sharing.
This SIWA testnet launch brings 40+ new ecosystem partners across AI, Web3, cloud computing, and academic institutions, including AWS, Google Cloud, UC Berkeley, Together AI, and QuickNode. Previously, Sahara has partnered with Microsoft, Amazon, Snap, MIT, USC, UCLA, and MyShell.

"Sahara AI is ushering in a new era of AI collaboration that is more open, fair, and sustainable."
Said Vipul Ved Prakash, Co-Founder and CEO of Together AI:
"We believe scalable compute resources will become the new infrastructure for Web3 AI. Together AI will fully support Sahara’s developer platform, helping more users easily access and deploy intelligent models."
With the release of SIWA, Sahara AI will also roll out its flagship applications to the public in phases, providing builders and contributors from both Web2 and Web3 with industry-chain-related tools, infrastructure, and economic systems: the AI Developer Platform, AI Marketplace, and Data Service Platform (DSP).
The Data Service Platform will open public testing on May 27, an innovative service leveraging distributed contributors for large-scale data collection and annotation. The platform offers decentralized review, incentive distribution, and quality control mechanisms, with 289,000 entries reviewed and approved in Season One at 92% accuracy, and over 2.55 million entries in Season Two, achieving 95% accuracy.
Sahara AI solves the long-missing AI infrastructure problem within the blockchain ecosystem, offering global developers a full-stack AI development and collaboration platform, and enabling rights attribution, trading, and shared revenue of AI assets through Web3 protocol mechanisms. SIWA marks a fundamental restructuring of AI production relations—and the beginning of the De-AI era.
