OKX Web3 Wallet's "Bitcoin Renaissance" event, co-hosted with Polygon and partners during ETH Denver, concluded successfully.
OKX Web3 Wallet is enhancing product experience and service for users through active discussions and continuous iteration and optimization.

On February 29, OKX Web3 Wallet co-hosted the "Bitcoin Renaissance" event with Babylon, BOB, and Polygon during ETH Denver, which concluded successfully. The event brought together top industry leaders including David Tse, Co-Founder of Babylon and member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering; Robin Linus, Founder of BitVM; Sandeep Naliwal, Founder of Polygon; Sunny Aggarwal, Founder of Osmosis; Ryan Selkis, Co-Founder of Messari; Jeff Ren, Partner at OKX Ventures; and Nic Carter, Head of Castle Island Ventures. They discussed core topics such as the evolution of the Bitcoin ecosystem and the synergies between Bitcoin and Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchains, sharing exclusive insights.
During the first panel discussion titled "Bitcoin and PoS Ecosystem Synergy," Jeff Ren, Partner at OKX Ventures, shared insights on OKX Web3 Wallet’s collaboration with the Bitcoin ecosystem and other key topics. According to Jeff Ren, "We have invested significant effort in building Web3 products. Currently, OKX Web3 Wallet is the only wallet that simultaneously supports all four Bitcoin address types and also functions as a Cosmos wallet."
As the second wave of excitement around the Bitcoin network unfolds, various Bitcoin Layer 2 solutions have emerged—including those compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), zero-knowledge proofs, and Optimistic Rollups. Increasing activity related to BTC is now taking place across the ecosystem. Jeff Ren noted that growing discussions and exchanges around Bitcoin are positive developments. Through active community engagement and continuous product iteration, OKX Web3 Wallet aims to deliver improved user experiences and services. For example, users can trade Bitcoin assets via OKX DEX or participate in Bitcoin staking through OKX DeFi. Moreover, with narratives like Bitcoin ETFs and emerging new projects attracting attention, more developers are beginning to engage with the Bitcoin network. This trend strengthens our confidence in the ecosystem. Our team has already researched and invested in over 30 Bitcoin Layer 2 networks and will continue supporting high-potential developers.
Regarding the view that PoS appears to be replacing Proof-of-Work (PoW) as the dominant consensus mechanism, Jeff Ren stated that while PoS has gained traction due to its energy efficiency and potential scalability advantages, PoW still holds irreplaceable strengths. As demonstrated by the Bitcoin network over the past decade, PoW has a proven track record in securing blockchain networks. It promotes decentralization by allowing anyone with sufficient computing power to participate as a miner. Additionally, PoW offers resilience against Sybil attacks. In other words, PoW can serve as a security layer for PoS chains, elevating both security and decentralization to a higher level.
