From industry blowups to liquidity crises, the global crypto sector has plunged into a bear market. Yet "every crisis is also an opportunity." The arrival of the "crypto winter" has slowed industry development, offering seasoned participants a chance to regroup while opening new doors for newcomers. With the rise of Web3 concepts and broader adoption of crypto technology, talent and investors from various fields are turning their attention to the crypto industry. How to transition from being a complete novice to becoming a co-builder in this space has become a key concern.
To help address these questions, Bitget interviewed five Builders, delving into their personal journeys—how they entered the industry, their experiences, risk management strategies, investment techniques, and why they chose to become Bitget Builders.
The five interviewees specialize in different areas within the industry—including content creation, ecosystem interaction, super nodes, trading, and design—offering a comprehensive view for crypto enthusiasts.
Q1: How did you enter this industry, and what inspired you to focus on this specific field?
Lubi Yangjia: Bitget Builder, specializing in ecosystem interaction
I used to work as an IT developer at a major internet company, which allowed me to quickly adapt to the crypto industry. Like most people, I started by trading crypto tokens—and so did I, entering right during the 2021 bull run. In life and work, we all encounter mentors or guides. When I first joined the space, a close friend named Jerry introduced me to interacting with various ecosystem projects. This led to substantial returns and revealed the potential for exponential wealth growth with relatively small investments—laying the foundation for my current focus on the interaction track.

Since university, I’ve loved traveling and writing. During each trip, I updated my experiences, observations, and reflections on Tianya Forum, eventually becoming one of its popular “featured contributors.” In 2018, Tianya launched a blockchain-themed section where fans could upvote and comment to mine TYT points—tokens that could be traded on a well-established crypto exchange.
Although Tianya’s blockchain initiative wasn’t entirely genuine, it was my first exposure to blockchain concepts like Bitcoin and decentralization. After over a year of consistent posting, I accumulated tens of millions of TYT points.
Writing forced me to learn deeply. Every day, I read extensively about blockchain, studied its mechanisms, and stayed updated on trends—giving me a much deeper understanding of the industry.
Despite enduring many dark chapters in crypto history, platforms like Tianya, Bibox (Bihu), and that legacy exchange have since collapsed, becoming relics of the past. But I’ve always believed in the future of crypto and never left—neither in the past, nor now, nor ever.

I entered the industry around 2016–2017, though I dabbled casually in 2014–2015. Back then, the scene felt more like a Ponzi scheme. But later, I saw the industry maturing and recognized its long-term potential—so I dove in. I’ve always enjoyed riding the waves of change.

I previously worked on traditional internet mining hardware projects before getting exposed to blockchain trading, gradually entering this space. What kept me here was seeing how blockchain transformed people’s socioeconomic status. I was once in a group chat with figures like Ronaldo (RM) and He Yi, witnessing firsthand how they achieved financial freedom through crypto. During DeFi’s rise, using stablecoins, staking on-chain, and flipping low-cap tokens, my close friends built real wealth and changed their lives. That solidified my confidence in staying and growing within this industry.

In 2021, during the big bull market, every sector performed strongly, sparking boundless imagination across the industry. GameFi was highly anticipated, and I got into web3 through blockchain gaming.
Q2: We all know the crypto industry offers opportunities for rapid wealth creation. What project brought you the highest return, and how did you discover it?
Lubi Yangjia: Bitget Builder, specializing in ecosystem interaction
I’ve participated in over a hundred projects with varying outcomes—some profitable, some not. But the most rewarding was Aptos. As a star L1 chain, the opportunity was obvious. Early on, I helped build the Chinese-speaking Aptos community, which grew to over 8,000 members by the airdrop phase—one of the largest Chinese communities to receive Aptos tokens. Personally, I earned an A7-level reward, providing strong financial backing for my continued work in this space.

One day in April 2020, I stumbled upon a live stream on Bibox about Kava. It was just before the bull market, when public chain development was beginning and DeFi was still in its infancy on Ethereum. I thoroughly researched Kava through its official website, Twitter, and other channels, realizing it might be a golden opportunity.
I promptly converted all the tokens I had earned from platforms like Bibox and Cailu into KAVA, averaging around $0.35 per token. As the bull market took off, DeFi Summer exploded, and Web3 regained momentum—NFTs, GameFi, DAOs pushing the market higher.
When the entire market goes crazy, it’s time to stay calm. 707 is both my home address and lucky number—I sold all my KAVA holdings at exactly $7.07. That was my first million in crypto.

The most memorable was Luna. When I spotted its irreversible death spiral mechanism, I boldly shorted it and made about $200,000. After it bottomed out, I led others in buying the dip—next day, it surged 500x, earning another $100,000+.

My biggest win came from algorithmic stablecoin yield farming. Right after ETH-based algo-stable projects ended, Huobi Chain launched the BAG project. At the time, public chains were booming and capital inflows were high—I caught the wave during the peak红利 period.

My most profitable project was the GameFi game Axie Infinity. During the GameFi ecosystem boom, top-tier projects delivered solid returns. I spent a lot of time on Twitter, following domestic and international degens, filtering information, doing my own research, and then jumping in.
Q3: High returns come with high risks. What project caused your biggest loss, and how can we avoid such risks?
Lubi Yangjia: Bitget Builder, specializing in ecosystem interaction
Back in 2021, I interacted with a very promising project. I used nearly 300 accounts en masse but didn’t pay enough attention to interaction frequency. Later, the airdrop criteria required 10+ transactions per account. My accounts missed it by just 1–2 transactions each—costing me nearly a million dollars in missed gains. I hadn’t invested enough effort or treated each account like a real user. I was just farming mechanically, leading to failure.

In November 2021, a mentor I deeply trusted told me about a token called NFT. He said Justin Sun’s projects always get listed on Binance, and NFT would follow soon—with guaranteed 50x returns.
Out of caution, I initially bought only $1,000 worth. But he kept hyping it, painting visions of massive gains. Trusting him and overly confident in the market, I eventually went all-in with $30,000. Needless to say, when I cut losses, only $3,000 remained.
That experience left me down for a long time and prompted a deep review and overhaul of my trading system and philosophy.
1. Never blindly follow others’ advice, especially when it’s laced with FOMO. Markets are unpredictable; others’ opinions are subjective and should only serve as reference—not investment advice.
2. Always do thorough research before any trade. Document your reasoning for each transaction and conduct post-trade reviews.
3. Maintain strict position management. Allocate large positions to BTC and ETH, use small allocations for altcoins, and never go all-in.
4. Set clear stop-loss and take-profit levels for every trade—and stick to them rigorously.

EOS—it wiped me out in 2018 when I shorted during FOMO and got liquidated on 50,000 EOS. I learned that meme coins are irrational and you should never hold positions overnight.

My biggest losses came from futures margin calls. I suffered two major liquidations with heavy damage. The biggest lesson? To be a long-term player, risk control must come first. No matter how unlikely a risk seems, given enough time, it will eventually happen 100% of the time.

Probably the Shitgod project. I had my NFT stolen twice. Be extremely cautious with unsolicited @mentions and DMs on Twitter and Telegram.
Q4: Among the multiple benefits offered in the Bitget Builder recruitment program, which one interests you most?
Lubi Yangjia: Bitget Builder, specializing in ecosystem interaction
Bitget Builder is Bitget’s flagship global influencer recruitment initiative, focusing on nurturing emerging crypto content creators by offering customized traffic support and growth plans.
This is a fantastic opportunity for new creators to gain exposure and support from Bitget—one of the top exchanges with millions in traffic. Creators can consistently produce quality content and contribute meaningfully to industry development.

I’m most interested in the “Bitget Insights Program.” Although I’m already an experienced content creator, I still value opportunities to exchange ideas and receive feedback.
Bitget is a dynamic and fast-growing exchange with a global crypto user base. I have great confidence in Bitget’s future.
For me personally, no matter how long I stay in crypto or how much I earn, I’ll keep creating content—providing users with beginner guides, gameplay strategies, project analysis, and industry reports. Through this journey, I grow alongside the industry and help more people participate in and benefit from the Web3 revolution.

The community benefits are very attractive. Being able to host exclusive events tailored to our community and receiving generous rewards—I love bringing my community along to profit together.

Integrating our Twitter accounts into the Bitget Insight feature for greater visibility is a great move. Also, the referral commission program helps save significantly on fees over the long term.
