A new era of modular blockchains built by Dymension and Celestia is coming—let’s break it down:

Dymension is home to easily deployable, ultra-fast application-specific chains called RollApps.

What are RollApps?
RollApps are ultra-fast blockchains with their own gas tokens and customizable application logic.
Sounds similar to Cosmos app-chains?
Exactly—but with one key difference: RollApps are modular.
How are RollApps modular?
RollApps delegate settlement and consensus to the Dymension Hub and publish data to a DA layer like Celestia.
With a secure place to publish state and transaction data, the RollApp ecosystem can scale without increasing costs for end users.
What is the Dymension Hub?
The Dymension Hub is an IBC-enabled blockchain with its own decentralized validator network and native token (DYM). It was built to foster growth and security across the RollApp ecosystem.
How does Dymension secure RollApp users?
RollApp sequencers stake DYM tokens. If they execute fraudulent state transitions or censor transactions, the Dymension Hub slashes their staked tokens and automatically handles any necessary corrections.
Why choose Celestia for data availability?
Instead of requiring every full node to download all data published on Celestia, light clients can sample and verify that data has been published. The more samples taken by light clients, the larger the block space can grow without increasing centralization.
What does modular blockchain mean for builders?
Freedom! Autonomy! Each RollApp owns itself. Contrary to the "fat protocol thesis," applications can now accrue value to their tokens based on demand for their products.

What is Dymension's roadmap?
The public testnet will launch in Q1 2023. Following this, the protocol will enter an incentivized testnet phase, paving the way toward mainnet and a new era of sustainable blockchains.
