Argus is an infrastructure-layer project aiming to provide a full-chain game engine and L2 blockchain for the Web3 gaming sector, helping game developers build and customize their own open and interoperable game worlds. Its World Engine adopts a sharded Rollup design and is fully EVM-compatible, offering developer-friendly features.
Currently, Argus is still in a very early stage, with only private access to its engine available for testing. However, according to the official blog, Argus developers have previously contributed to the development of the full-chain game "Dark Forest" and achieved notable success. Argus has secured $10 million in seed funding from investors including Alchemy and ROBOT Ventures, among other VCs and individual backers. The project launched a genesis NFT series on Zora, allowing users to mint for free with relatively low fees, although the minting period ended by the evening of the 13th.
