TechFlow, September 15 — According to Cointelegraph, France's securities regulator AMF warned it may ban cryptocurrency firms licensed in other EU countries from operating in France, addressing enforcement gaps in the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). AMF Chair Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani stated that some companies might seek licenses in "weakest link" jurisdictions with lighter regulatory requirements. France, Austria, and Italy have called for transferring supervisory authority over major crypto firms to the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), and support revising the MiCA framework to strengthen oversight of crypto activities outside the EU and enhance cybersecurity supervision.
