TechFlow news, September 3 — According to The Block, a vulnerability in Reth, an Ethereum execution client developed by Paradigm, caused some nodes to temporarily stall.
Georgios Konstantopoulos, CTO of Paradigm, said the bug occurred at block height 2,327,426 and affected versions 1.6.0 and 1.4.8 of the Ethereum mainnet. While recovery commands have been provided, the team is still investigating the root cause of the vulnerability.
Data shows that Reth currently accounts for 5.4% of Ethereum execution layer clients. Developed in Rust, Reth emphasizes high performance and modularity. This vulnerability only affects nodes using Reth and has had limited impact on the overall Ethereum network.
