TechFlow, September 3 — According to Jinshi Data and citing The Wall Street Journal, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent plans to begin a series of intensive interviews with candidates for the Federal Reserve chairmanship starting Friday. The selection process will continue into next week, during which Bessent will conduct face-to-face or video conference meetings with the candidates, according to sources. Bessent and his advisers revealed that there are currently 11 shortlisted candidates, including Federal Reserve Governors Waller and Bowman, National Economic Council Director Hassett, and former Fed Governor Warsh. After the interviews, Bessent will submit a final list of recommended candidates to Trump. Bessent previously stated he would launch the selection process for the Fed chair shortly after Labor Day.
