TechFlow news, according to Jinshi News, on the 29th local time, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled that most of President Trump's global tariff measures were illegal.
The International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not explicitly grant the U.S. president the authority to impose tariffs, and Trump's invocation of this law exceeded his statutory powers.
The court stated that these challenged tariffs may remain in effect until October 14 to allow the U.S. government time to appeal to the Supreme Court.
According to Reuters, the court's ruling does not affect tariffs imposed by the Trump administration under other provisions, such as steel and aluminum tariffs. On the same day, President Trump criticized the appeals court decision via social media, calling it "wrong" for requiring the removal of tariffs, and emphasized that existing tariffs remain in force.
