TechFlow news, August 26 — Binance CEO Richard Teng warned of a new type of scam emerging recently: fraudsters posing as customer support agents are calling users to trick them into modifying their API settings, thereby stealing funds. The scammers impersonate official personnel, claiming the changes are for a "security update," and ultimately gain control over user accounts. Binance reminds users that its official team will never request passwords or credentials via phone calls. It recommends enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) and Passkey, tightening API permission management, and verifying all communications through official channels. If users suspect they have encountered such a scam, they should immediately contact Binance support to revoke API keys and freeze their accounts.
