TechFlow, August 15 — According to Decrypt, law enforcement in Texas has seized over $2.8 million worth of cryptocurrency assets from Ianis Aleksandrovich Antropenko, a suspect linked to ransomware operations, along with $70,000 in cash and a luxury vehicle.
Prosecutors allege that Antropenko deployed the Zeppelin ransomware to attack individuals, businesses, and organizations worldwide, extorting victims by encrypting and stealing their data. This case is one of six federal search warrants issued by U.S. Department of Justice across courts in Virginia, California, and Texas.
