TechFlow, August 8 — According to Cryptonews, Andriy Pyshnyy, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), stated that while he supports the legalization of cryptocurrencies, he does not support their use as a means of payment. He emphasized that legalizing cryptocurrencies should not undermine the effectiveness of the central bank's monetary policy tools.
Meanwhile, Pyshnyy revealed that the NBU is currently testing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) architectural model and preparing for pilot projects. Considering Ukraine's European integration process, the NBU is particularly focused on developments in the digital euro project and has already initiated cooperation with the European Central Bank, Deutsche Bundesbank, the National Bank of Belgium, Banque de France, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
