TechFlow, August 4 - According to Jinshi Data, last week Trump fired the Commissioner of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics over allegations of "manipulating" data, causing skepticism in money markets to intensify further. Kieran Davies, Chief Macro Strategist at Coolabah Capital, said further downward revisions to U.S. employment growth figures could anger Trump even more. Davies warned that while the government has not yet appointed a replacement commissioner, if data are effectively manipulated or perceived by markets as manipulated—such as ceasing publication of certain data based on environmental and health statistics—it would increase volatility in financial markets.
