TechFlow news, July 11 — According to CryptoSlate, the legal team representing Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm may request a brief trial delay, as prosecutors plan to call a hacker who allegedly used the mixing protocol as a witness.
Storm's defense team has filed documents with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking to exclude the testimony of the unnamed witness, arguing that the prosecution disclosed the witness information after the agreed deadline. The defense contends that this testimony could mislead the jury into wrongly believing that Storm was involved in the related hacking activities.
Storm's trial is scheduled to begin on July 14. He faces charges of money laundering, conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business, and conspiracy to violate U.S. sanctions. The judge is expected to rule on the witness motion before the end of this weekend.
