TechFlow, July 6 — According to the Wall Street Journal, neither Musk nor his advisers have filed documents with the Federal Election Commission indicating the formation of a new political entity called the "American Party." The party's name is similar to America PAC, the political action committee he helped establish.
Documents show that through America PAC, the pro-Trump political group, Musk has spent nearly $300 million in 2024 to support Trump and other Republicans. While third-party candidates in the U.S. have never won the presidency, they can play a spoiler role by drawing votes away from the two major parties.
