TechFlow, July 6 — According to The Block citing Bloomberg, following a large-scale investigation involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Global Investigations and Operations Center (GIOC) of the U.S. Secret Service seized $225 million worth of cryptocurrency last month.
Over the past decade, the GIOC team of the U.S. Secret Service has recovered digital assets worth $400 million from criminals. The majority of the recovered funds—totaling approximately $400 million—"were stored in a cold wallet."
In addition to seizing these cryptocurrencies, GIOC conducted a week-long free training program across more than 60 countries, educating local law enforcement officers on how to identify and prevent cryptocurrency-based fraud and crimes.
