TechFlow news, June 30 — According to the Associated Press on June 29, U.S. President Trump said he has no intention of extending beyond July 9 the 90-day pause on tariffs targeting most countries and regions. Once his set negotiation deadline passes, the government will notify relevant countries and regions that trade penalties will take effect as scheduled unless an agreement with the United States is reached. He stated that letters would be sent to these countries and regions shortly before the final deadline. During a Fox News program, Trump said: "We will assess each country and region's attitude toward us—whether friendly or unfriendly. For some we don't care about, we'll just send a high number." In the interview, Trump added that the letters would state: 'Congratulations, you are approved to purchase goods from the United States of America, subject to a 25% tariff, or 35%, 50%, 10%.'
