TechFlow, June 21 — According to Business Insider, AI startup Cluely announced on Friday that it has secured $15 million in funding led by a16z. Chungin "Roy" Lee, CEO and co-founder of the company, shared the news via the X platform.
Cluely launched earlier this year with the slogan "helping users cheat in everything," and its early version previously led to Lee being suspended from Columbia University.
The tool was initially marketed as a way to help software engineers cheat during job interviews, but the company has since removed such descriptions from its website, instead emphasizing its role as an "undetectable" AI tool capable of viewing users' screens in real time and providing answers.
According to Lee, the company plans to use the new funds to aggressively pursue marketing, aiming for one billion views across all platforms. Cluely also announced plans to hire 50 "growth interns" who will be required to post at least four TikTok videos per day.
