TechFlow news, June 9 — According to a post by Tether CEO, Tether announced it will open-source its Bitcoin mining operating system (MOS), aiming to create a fairer mining environment and narrow the gap between public companies and small-scale participants. The system adopts a peer-to-peer IoT architecture with high scalability and modularity, supporting deployments ranging from a single Raspberry Pi to large-scale mining farms monitoring hundreds of thousands of miners.
MOS already includes various built-in plugins capable of monitoring and interacting with different types of miners, container units, and electrical equipment. AI tools will be integrated in the future to optimize mining performance. Developers can create custom plugins for specific devices and contribute code. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that the open-source release is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, and the team is currently preparing documentation and guides for the public launch.
