TechFlow news, June 9 — According to The Block, the seven-day moving average of transaction counts on the Bitcoin network has recently dropped to its lowest level in 19 months.
Several core Bitcoin developers issued a statement last Friday stating that nodes should not reject or stop relaying transactions with low fees or non-standard formats if miners are willing to include them in blocks. Mononaut, founder of Mempool, noted that a recent transaction with nearly zero fee was included in a block, indicating weak miner demand for transactions.
