TechFlow, June 5 — According to Cointelegraph, Ukrainian police recently arrested a 35-year-old man accused of carrying out large-scale cryptojacking. Police stated that since 2018, the suspect had hacked into over 5,000 customer accounts of an international hosting company, using their server resources without authorization to mine cryptocurrencies, causing approximately $4.4 million in damages. During a search of the suspect's residence, authorities seized multiple computing devices, mobile phones, bank cards, cryptocurrency wallets, and hacking software. The suspect now faces charges of unauthorized interference with electronic information systems, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
