TechFlow news, on June 4, according to Coindoo, the California State Assembly passed AB 1180 with a unanimous vote of 68-0, allowing state government agencies to accept Bitcoin and other digital currencies as payment for fees. This "groundbreaking" bill, introduced by Assemblymember Avelino Valencia, will establish a pilot program authorizing the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation to accept digital financial assets as payment. Assemblymember Valencia stated he firmly believes this technology will be fully integrated into society in the near future. The bill has now been sent to the State Senate for further consideration.
