TechFlow news, May 30 — According to Jinshi Data, U.S. consumer confidence in May remained roughly flat compared to April, ending a four-month streak of sharp declines. Although preliminary data at the beginning of May showed a dip in confidence, sentiment rebounded in mid-to-late month following the temporary suspension of tariffs on certain goods. After mid-month, consumers’ outlook on the business environment improved, likely a direct result of trade policy adjustments. However, stagnant overall income throughout May led to declining satisfaction with current personal financial conditions, offsetting the aforementioned positive changes. Overall, consumers perceive the economic outlook as no worse than last month, but remain highly concerned about the future.
