TechFlow news, May 21 — According to The Block, privacy browser Brave has partnered with Unstoppable Domains to launch the ".brave" blockchain domain, becoming the first mainstream web browser to have its own on-chain domain. The domain will be minted as an NFT on the Polygon blockchain, requires no renewal fees, can replace complex cryptocurrency wallet addresses, and supports hosting decentralized websites on IPFS.
The ".brave" domain will be natively resolved in Brave Browser version 1.81 (expected release in August 2025) and is planned to apply for ICANN generic top-level domain registration in 2026 to achieve full compatibility across Web2 and Web3 environments.
