TechFlow, May 20 — According to Decrypt, on May 20 the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) filed a labor complaint against Llama Productions, a subsidiary of Epic Games, accusing it of using AI technology to replace voice actors in Fortnite without their consent. The complaint follows controversy over an AI-generated Darth Vader character that used racist language. SAG-AFTRA has requested intervention from the National Labor Relations Board, emphasizing that employers must consult with unions before deploying AI to replace human workers.
