TechFlow news, May 6 — According to Jinshi Data, the EU's top trade negotiator said that if the new U.S. investigations into products such as pharmaceuticals and semiconductors lead to additional tariffs, the United States could collect over $100 billion in tariffs from the EU. EU Commission Vice President Šefčovič stated, "The current situation is unacceptable; we cannot just stand by." U.S. officials are currently examining the possibility of imposing tariffs on several sectors, including imports of copper, lumber, and medicines, citing national security concerns. Šefčovič said that if all potential tariffs are implemented, around €549 billion ($621.28 billion) of EU exports to the U.S. would be affected. "The U.S. could now potentially gain up to €100 billion," he said.
