TechFlow news, May 5 — According to The Shib Daily, Tsinghua University officially launched its AI Smart Hospital project at the 2025 Tsinghua School of Medicine Conference. The project will launch pilot programs at Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital and its internet hospital, initially covering departments including general practice, ophthalmology, radiological diagnosis, and respiratory medicine.
The smart hospital will integrate artificial intelligence capabilities directly into the core hospital infrastructure, aiming to improve medical decision accuracy, operational efficiency, and patient experience, while reducing overall hospital expenditures. Previously, in November 2024, Tsinghua University launched an internal trial version of the "Zijing AI Doctor" system as an experimental platform for a closed virtual medical environment.
Tsinghua University stated that the AI Smart Hospital project will gradually evolve into a fully operational AI-driven physical hospital and serve as a key base for Tsinghua medical education, cultivating a new generation of "AI-collaborative physicians".
