TechFlow news, on May 4, French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau shared a post on X regarding the kidnapping of the father of a cryptocurrency entrepreneur in Paris. On May 2, four masked men abducted the man in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, demanding a ransom of 5 to 7 million euros. After a 48-hour urgent investigation by police, the victim was rescued on the evening of May 4 from a residence in Essonne, and five suspects were arrested at the scene. It was reported that the victim suffered severe injuries during captivity, including the amputation of one finger.
The victim's son runs a cryptocurrency marketing company in Malta, and both father and son had previously received multiple threats. This case marks another recent violent crime targeting individuals involved in the cryptocurrency industry in France.
