TechFlow news, May 4 — According to China Central Television News, on May 2, California Governor Gavin Newsom said in an online interview with Japanese media Nikkei Asia that the Trump administration's tariff policies have caused significant harm to California, and California will continue to "keep its trade doors open" to China. Newsom stated that California has always been a "stable trading partner" for China, and both sides have signed a series of cooperation memorandums at the provincial-state, county, and city levels. During his visit to China last year, he further extended ties with China to the national level. He emphasized that California remains "open for business" with all trading partners, including China, because global trade is not a zero-sum game — "we are interdependent."
