TechFlow, April 30 — According to Bloomberg, Salvadoran Economy Minister Maria Luisa Hayem stated at the Web Summit event in Rio de Janeiro that El Salvador will continue purchasing Bitcoin despite a loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) requiring it to stop accumulating Bitcoin. Hayem confirmed in a live interview: "President Bukele has committed to continuing asset accumulation."
According to an official announcement from The Bitcoin Office of El Salvador, the country has added 8 Bitcoin to its national Bitcoin strategic reserve over the past seven days, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 6,162.18.
