TechFlow news, April 27 — Thomson, developer of the DeFi trading and asset management project QuantMaster, responded on social media stating he was a victim of an incident in which "malicious code was previously implanted by an employee." Malicious code was discovered in part of his proprietary trading funds. With assistance from Yu Xian, founder of SlowMist, a police report has been successfully filed. The suspect has been largely identified: there is clear GitHub record showing code submission by a specific employee, and the device used for the submission was unique. Cursor retains complete local AI logs, which have been reviewed to rule out any possibility of AI-modified code.
Previous report, a member of the crypto community disclosed that a Web3 project's smart contract was suspected of having malicious code implanted by an employee, resulting in losses of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
