TechFlow, April 28 — According to Jinshi Data, on Monday, Japan's top foreign exchange official Atsushi Mimura denied a report by Yomiuri Shimbun. The report cited U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent's remarks during bilateral talks with Japanese Finance Minister Katō Katsunobu in Washington, stating that a weaker dollar and stronger yen were desirable. Mimura said no discussion on foreign exchange targets took place during the meeting. On the previous Thursday, Katō and Bessent held their first face-to-face talks on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank meetings.
