TechFlow news, April 27 — According to Decrypt, Celsius Network founder Alex Mashinsky will be sentenced on May 8. Over 200 victims have submitted impact statements, with the vast majority demanding the harshest possible punishment. Mashinsky pleaded guilty last year to two felony charges, including misleading customers about Celsius's financial condition and using customer funds to manipulate the price of the CEL token. In June 2022, Celsius froze $4.7 billion in customer assets before filing for bankruptcy. Victims have described Mashinsky as having "destroyed countless lives" and are urging the court to impose a severe sentence to restore trust in the justice system.
