TechFlow, April 24 — According to Jinshi Data citing the Wall Street Journal on the 23rd, senior U.S. officials revealed that the Trump administration is considering multiple options. The first option involves reducing tariffs on Chinese goods to approximately 50%-65%. The second option, known as the "tiered approach," would categorize imports from China into two groups: those deemed "not threatening to U.S. national security" and those considered "strategically significant to U.S. national interests." U.S. media reported that under the "tiered approach," the U.S. would impose a 35% tariff on the first category and at least a 100% tariff on the second. White House Press Secretary Levitt stated that Trump's stance on tariffs against China "has not softened."
